Steven Shales vs. Southeastern Illinois College

Facts: Petitioner was employed by a Community College to teach auto body classes to inmates in a State Correctional Center. Petitioner testified that he got a MRSA infection on his left arm and side. The medical records indicated that petitioner had an abscess on the left buttock with a history of MRSA. he went to a medical clinic on one occasion, got medication and the condition cleared up. Petitioner testifed taht he has had subsequent infections.

Findings: The Arbitrator ruled that petitioner failed to prove any exposure at work as a cause of his lesions and that he failed to prove any permanent partial disability.
