MEDICAL - CREDIT FOR MEDICAL PAID UNDER EMPLOYER’S GROUP HEALTH POLICY

In Morris v National Refractories & Minerals, 21 S.W.3d 866 (Mo.App.E.D. 2000), the employer totally funded the group health insurance program. The award included medical benefits the employer claimed they had already paid, for which they were entitled to a credit. Because the employer actually made these payments, under Section 287.270, the employer was entitled to a full credit for all medical bill payments made for the employee’s bills (Note: you must prove the employer paid the full amount of the bill).
