Evans & Dixon, LLC Elects Five New Members

 

Evans & Dixon's partner ranks continue to grow with the addition of 5 new attorneys, effective January 1, 2023. These talented attorneys have played an integral part in our continued legacy as a trusted resource for our clients. Their skills, perspectives and experiences will continue to strengthen Evans & Dixon and create a long-term impact for the firm.

Meet Evans & Dixon's newest members

Kerry Banahan Dagestad (St. Louis, MO): Ms. Banahan Dagestad joined Evans & Dixon in 2016, after graduating from Saint Louis University School of Law. Ms. Banahan Dagestad practices in the firm's Civil Litigation Department and concentrates the majority of her practice on Insurance Defense. The bulk of Ms. Banahan Dagestad’s career experience includes personal injury litigation stemming from vehicular accidents, medical malpractice and premise liability claims. Her clients include businesses, individuals, and government entities. In addition to practicing civil litigation, Ms. Banahan Dagestad handles a number of criminal matters including traffic violations and DWI’s.

 

Alex LaBarge (St. Louis, MO): Ms. LaBarge joined Evans & Dixon in 2017 as an associate attorney in the Workers’ Compensation practice. After graduating from Saint Louis, University school of Law, Ms. LaBarge worked as a claimant’s attorney, helping claimants in the prosecution of their workers’ compensation and personal injury claims. As only one of two attorneys in a high-volume firm, she gained vast experience by leading hearings, mediations, depositions; she even won an Award in her first Hearing before the Division of Workers’ Compensation. Having spent a number of years working for the plaintiffs, she now brings that invaluable knowledge and perspective to the defense.  

 

Marjorie Lewis (Columbia, MO): Ms. Lewis joined Evans & Dixon in 2021 and her career experience includes providing representation in litigation and transactional matters in the areas of construction, development, real estate, employment, business, land use and other matters. She also acts as general counsel for various businesses, and she has successfully represented clients in federal and state court litigation matters, including acting as lead counsel during trial and in subsequent appeals. Ms. Lewis further represents clients in front of the City Council, Board of Adjustment and Planning and Zoning Commission. In addition to practicing law, Ms. Lewis is a licensed real estate broker and has been a speaker on various employment and real estate issues.

 

Robert Pawlowski (Chicago, IL): Mr. Pawlowski practices in the areas of Workers’ Compensation defense, Civil Litigation, and Subrogation. Robert spent almost ten years representing individuals in the area of workers’ compensation and personal injury prior to his joining the firm. This experience allows Robert to bring a unique perspective to his defense practice. Mr. Pawlowski is a member in numerous legal associations across the State of Illinois. 

 

Lilia Picazo (Chicago, IL): Ms. Picazo joined Evans & Dixon in 2020. She has over 7 years of litigation experience from multiple firms in the Chicagoland area. Prior to joining the firm, she worked for a prominent workers’ compensation defense firm where she handled matters throughout all levels of the Illinois Workers’ Compensation Commission and other courts. Ms. Picazo began her career as a Petitioner’s attorney representing injured workers for several years. With her unique perspective, she is able to anticipate her opponents’ arguments and strategies. Ms. Picazo is fluent in Spanish allowing her to translate and communicate effectively with Spanish-speaking individuals.
