For lawsuits, Mr. Fletcher is responsible for all aspects of the case. This includes the initial evaluation of the case with the client, strategy planning, pleading and motion practice, discovery requests, depositions, experts, settlement negotiations, mediation, hearings and summary judgment arguments, trial, and post-trial motions.
Mr. Fletcher’s litigation practice includes various areas of law. For example, a large portion of his practice involves insurance defense cases, which typically involves defending clients from various claims of negligence (e.g. premise liability, personal injury, and wrongful death). And this includes responding to temporary restraining orders stemming from claims of breach of fiduciary duties.
Additionally, Mr. Fletcher’s practice focuses on litigating environmental issues and environmental administrative appeals, intellectual property disputes, which includes software patent infringement, trademark and trade dress infringement, misappropriation of trade secrets, and breach of contract.
Mr. Fletcher also represents public and private entities in environmental and administrative law matters.
Mr. Fletcher is licensed to practice in Missouri and Illinois State Courts as well as the Federal District Court for the Eastern District of Missouri.
Besides lawsuits, Mr. Fletcher also consults with clients in contractual matters pertaining to start-up business plans, intellectual property ideas, and negotiating software license agreements.
In light of the current economic climate, his prior work experience with a startup business focused on both web sites and video production provides him with a unique insight into the challenges that new companies face today.
