Who We Are

When John Evans and John Dixon formed their practice in 1945 to focus on the insurance industry, they did so with a commitment to clients, a dedication to maintain the highest level of expertise and a resolve to bring value to those we represent. Today, we maintain those promises and have expanded our founders’ vision to provide extensive practice capabilities, litigation support and trial experience that are highly respected by clients and law firms alike.

For more than 65 years, Evans & Dixon has remained dedicated to the advancement and innovations required to meet our clients’ changing needs. Our practice historically has been focused in the areas of Workers’ Compensation and Civil Litigation defense matters but has expanded more recently to include Subrogation and Collections. And, as an answer to our clients’ requests, we added our Business Services practice group in 2010, which rounded out our area of expertise with business transactions, labor and employment law, and business and commercial litigation representation.

We are proud of our solid foundation of business and insurance defense and our innovative approach to client service. We represent small, medium, and large sized businesses, employers, insurance companies and the self-insured throughout a variety of industries, including professional services, construction, healthcare, manufacturing, retail, banking, cable television, Internet commerce, transportation, distribution, insurance, utility, municipalities, and education, as well as and Federal and State agencies.

Our Culture

Evans & Dixon has grown to become one of the largest insurance defense practices in the Midwest yet we maintain the feel of the small firm that John Evans and John Dixon created in 1945. Our staff, research capabilities, and technology resources mirror that of a large firm, yet we have remained steadfast in offering the personalized attention and dedication to each client deserves.
