Mr. Thoenen has practiced exclusively in the area of Workers’ Compensation and has extensive experience in the agriculture, forestry and fishing, automotive, auto plants, casinos, education/schools, finance, insurance and real estate, government, manufacturing, medical/health care, mining, retail trade, services, transportation and public utilities and wholesale trade sectors. During his career, he has handled cases involving amputations, assaults and violent acts, back injuries, body system injuries, bruises and contusions, carpal tunnel syndrome, chemical burns, contact with objects and equipment, cumulative trauma, cuts and lacerations, falls, fatalities, fires and explosions, fractures, harmful substances or environments, head injuries, heart attacks, heat burns, infectious diseases, lower and upper extremity injuries, multiple traumatic injuries, musculoskeletal disorders, neck injuries, paraplegia/quadriplegia, permanent disability, poisoning, pulmonary disorders, respiratory conditions, skin diseases and disorders, sprains, strains, breaks, tears, tendonitis and transportation incidents.
Mr. Thoenen has argued numerous cases before the Court of Appeals in both Missouri and Illinois. He is a member of the Missouri Bar Association, Workers’ Compensation Committee; Illinois State Bar Association; Bar Association of Metropolitan St. Louis; Defense Research Institute, and the Illinois Workers’ Compensation Claims Association, for which he has served as downstate coordinator. Mr. Thoenen regularly speaks at client seminars and to industry groups. He also produces and updates the firm’s Illinois Workers’ Compensation Handbook.
Interests:
Mr. Thoenen is a dedicated golfer and also enjoys designing and building custom wood furniture for his home and office. He also likes to spend time with his family and dog.
