James E. Godfrey Awarded Membership Into The American Board of Trial Advocates

Member James E. Godfrey has been awarded membership into the prestigious American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA). Founded in 1958, ABOTA is a national association of experienced trial lawyers and judges dedicated to the preservation and promotion of the civil jury trial right provided by the Seventh Amendment to the U.S. Constitution. For many years ABOTA has worked to uphold the jury system and to elevate the standards of integrity, civility and professionalism in the legal profession. Their mission is to aid in further education and training of trial lawyers and to provide a forum for discussion through which trial lawyers can have an active voice.

Membership into the American Board of Trial Advocates is by invitation only, following a rigorous nomination and voting process. Criteria evaluated includes exceptional jury trial skills, civility, professionalism and integrity.  Members are also required to complete a requisite number of jury trials in their career.
