Business Owners - Jim Borchers has 25 years of experience advising small businesses and their owners about the daily bread and butter issues: contracts with customers and suppliers, leasing, borrowing from a bank or other funding source, limiting risks and growing the business.


SBA Loans & Lending Process - As a certified SBA 504 closing attorney, Jim also counsels lenders on conventional and SBA loan transactions.


Franchising - One of the few franchise attorneys in the St. Louis area, Jim can navigate you through a new franchise registration (i.e. as franchisor) or negotiate for you as a prospective franchisee.


Real Estate, Construction & Commercial Leases Jim routinely works through commercial leases and handles real estate financing and transfers. Trades and construction businesses rely on Jim for contracts and mechanic’s liens. As a former city attorney, Jim is always alert to various code and zoning issues.


Estate Planning. Whether it’s a complex trust or a simple durable power of attorney, people trust Jim to help them provide for family, protect business assets and find piece of mind.


Trade Associations. Jim serves as executive director and general counsel for several international manufacturers’ trade associations guiding them through industry and products issues.
